What qualifications do your staff have?The staff at Discovering Minds Child Development Center all have graduated from High School and many of them have college degrees and or have college hours, they are all First Aid/CPR trained and they are continually training in all aspects of Early Childhood Education.

How often do staff receive professional development training?Our staff receive several hours of professional development training each month as they required to have 30 hours per year.

Do you conduct background checks on all staff?A background check is a requirement for all staff at Discovering Minds Child Development Center in order to even he considered for employment. If a potential employee cannot pass a state regulated background check then they cannot be considered for employment at Discovering Minds Child Development Center.

How often do you communicate with parents?Discovering Minds Child Development Center communicates with our parents on a daily basis. Our childcare management systems ProCare allows bus to communicate with our parents in real time , and also sends notification messages to our parents when their diaper has been changed, when they have eaten and what learning activities they have completed. ProCare also does a host of other things that allow us to communicate to our parents like send monthly newsletters, available resources, and important alerts that we must get to our parents right away.

Do you have parent-teacher conferences?Parent-Teacher conferences are conducted once a month in person or via phone.

How do you handle behavioral issues?Challenging behavior is documented and given to the parent however we do have to maintain the safety to all children so if a child does pose to be a risk to the other children then a plan must be put in place for the child’s challenging behavior.

How do you accommodate children with special needs?Special needs children are accommodated based on the needs that a physician states they must have. The parent must provide our facility a physicians recommendation for the child’s specific needs and a determination by our center owner and director along with suggestions from childcare licensing are considered to see if our facility is able to satisfactorily meet the needs of the child.

How do you handle allergies and dietary restrictions?If a child has any type of allergy or dietary restriction a parent must provide a physicians note to our facility stating what allergies or dietary restrictions to ensure that our facility is aware of the child’s medical condition and to make sure our facility is taking the proper steps to ensure the we do not serve the child any food or place the child in any environment that may cause the allergy.

What is your educational philosophy?Our philosophy is to enhance the lives of our young children and strengthen family independence Discovering Minds Child Development Center will always strive to provide a healthy, safe, warm and friendly environment, quality child-care services for our children who are attending, help support our parents who are training or working, and provide the essentials elements that will improve and support the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of our young children.

Are you licensed and accredited?We are licensed, we are also Texas Rising Star - 3 Star and a Center of Excellence.

Do you offer part-time or full-time care?Full-time care only the only part-time care we offer is before and after school care.

What is your inclement weather policy?Our inclement weather policy is the same policy as our local school district policy. If our local district is closed then we are closed if our local district is delayed then we are delayed.

How do I enroll my child?Enrollment currently is only available in person or through email.

What are the tuition rates?Tuition rates start at 85.00 to 180.00. Infants 180.00 Walking Infants 150, 2-3 year olds 140.00, 4-5 year olds 130.00, Before and After school 85.00.

Are there any additional fees?Late fees apply when parents pick up after 5:30PM. Those fees accumulate at 5.00 per minute.

Do you offer any discounts?We offer sibling discounts and referral discounts.

What are your safety and security measures?Our facility is monitored by security cameras and all doors remain locked from the outside. Parents are given access by the facility staff.

What is your emergency preparedness plan?Our emergency preparedness plan consist of an evacuation and communication plan that will be provided to each parent at the time of enrolling the child into our facility.

Are all staff CPR and First Aid certified?All staff are First Aid/CPR certified.
